Donnette’s Apple Dumplings
Makes
6 dumplings
Peel
and core 6 Jonathon apples
Dough
Recipe:

cups flour
¾ cup
frozen oleo (or ¾ cup shortening, frozen and divided into small pieces and 1
teaspoon salt)
5
tablespoons ice water
In food
processor with steel blade, add flour and oleo. Process at high speed for about
8 seconds, or until mixture resembles cornmeal. Add water and process at high
speed just until a ball forms around the blade. Roll out and cup into 6
squares. Place 1 apple in the middle of each square. Fill holes with mixture of
½ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Place pat of butter on top of each
hole. Pull all 4 corners of dough up over butter. Place into 9x9 inch baking
pan.

to boil:

tablespoons butter

teaspoon cinnamon
Pour
over dumplings
Bake
at 350 degrees about 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown, basting after 10
to 15 minutes with sauce.
